My passion for polo all started a decade ago. I was introduced to one of the most amazing polo players that ever came to Hawaii, who taught me everything I know and also shared his passion with a number of lucky other students. It all started with the one and only Enrique Diaz, an Argentinian Professional who came to Hawaii 15 years ago with 18 polo ponies. Starting as a kid from the bottom rankings of a groom in Palermo to living on the grounds with the Queen in England, playing with the Prince’s, instructor at Oxford University to being based out of Wellington, FL as the professional for Gulian Johnson of Coca-cola and traveling the states across the coast to the shores of California as the coach for Stanford Polo.

Hawaii Polo Academy was created three years ago after Enrique Diaz left Oahu to further his dream to build a polo field in his homeland of Argentina. I was left with two horses and slowly grew my herd as the years went on. I've traveled across the state to play in tourments on Maui and Hawaii Island, even spending a season with my horses at Mauna Kea Polo Club to play. I started HPA at the Honolulu Polo Club and soon left to return to the beauty of the North Shore where it all started for me. Now, based out of Dillingham Ranch my school has two instructors for riding or polo lessons. The polo season is from March-September where clients can participate in club practices and games to furter their polo skills. Off Season is a great time to hone in your polo techniques and practice polo style riding. It takes a lot of energy, time and disapline, but the outcome is quite worth it.
